Actor and producer Gary Wales, together with screenwriter Wayne D. Burdette Jr., are thrilled to announce the launch of “Rusty”, a spine-tingling new horror franchise that promises to captivate audiences and bring a fresh, terrifying twist to the genre.
Developed by Nevis Studios in collaboration with Moonless Media & Entertainment, Rusty is now in pre-production and script development, and is set to make a lasting mark on horror cinema.
Rusty dives deep into the dark tale of a seemingly innocent party clown whose true nature emerges as a nightmare for a group of adults, all of whom bullied him as children. Each instalment in the franchise will reveal a new layer of Rusty’s relentless pursuit of revenge, ensuring audiences are gripped by escalating tension, fear, and an ever-deepening storyline.
“We are beyond excited to announce that Rusty has officially entered pre-production,” says Gary Wales, co-creator of the franchise. “Our goal is to take horror fans on a journey that will keep them on the edge of their seats. Each part of the franchise will build on the previous one, creating a relentless and terrifying experience.”
Casting for Rusty is expected to begin in early to mid-2025, with filming slated for the end of the year. The creators aim for a worldwide theatrical release, with the first instalment, Rusty – Part 1, set to premiere in the summer of 2026. Wales and Burdette Jr. are also planning to engage with fans through appearances at major horror conventions, building excitement and offering an immersive experience leading up to the film’s release.

To celebrate the announcement, Nevis Studios and Moonless Media & Entertainment are unveiling the first official poster for RUSTY. The haunting visual gives a chilling first glimpse at Rusty himself, foreshadowing the terror to come.
